Description
Saturday & Sunday, November 9th & 10: Manual Treatment and Kinematics of the Spine For Longevity
Learn to understand the biomechanics of the joints of the upper cervical, cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacrum. Learn to properly assess and treat all types of pathological conditions of the spine, including functional and structural scoliosis, on and off the table.
Achievable Goals:
- • Assess movement dysfunctions at each junction of the spine.
- • Apply joint mobilization techniques for proper centration
- • Determine central or peripheral dysfunction in the body
- • Design a progressive pain management protocol for client self care
- • Understand basic biomechanics of vertebral motion.
Learning Objectives:
- • Definitions: Arthrokinetics and biomechanics of the spine and the agonist, antagonist relationship.
- • Asses and Awareness: Look at the spine starting with the LumboSacral and lumbars, Thoracic rib cage and Cervicals, do movement awareness drill for a baseline before treatment.
- • Release: Look at manual functional treatments of the spine on and off the therapy table
- • Reeducate: Use PKT system to re-establish Motor Control, and Neuromuscular Endurance
- • Motivate/Movement Plan: Understand what PKT techniques to utilize to create a Active Daily Lifestyle, ADL, for your clients self care
