I started seeing Paul late spring of 2017 on a regular basis for severe lower back pain. Prior to that, over many years, I went to several Chiropractors, had numerous cortisone injections under fluoroscopy, numerous hours of physical therapy, went through a well known pain program for 21 days in the Chicago area, and even tried several rounds of Prolotherapy all without any pain relief. Also saw 3 different back surgeons, all of which said there was nothing they could do to help me.
After moving to Tennessee in 2016, I was seen at Vanderbilt and also told there was no surgery that they could do to lessen my pain.
By the time I was told about Paul I was using a rolling walker with a seat because I couldn’t walk very far without sitting and resting and my pain level was an eleven out of ten. No pain medicine I ever tried even made a tiny improvement in the pain I was feeling.
Paul’s first assessment of my back was entirely dependent on his invaluable knowledge of the anatomy of the body and my misalignment issues.
Myself, being well versed in the medical profession, little did I know that a person without MD after his name could be so knowledgeable in not only the anatomy of the body, but the physiology as well and was able to put it to use throughout the entire body and not just specializing in one area. To have this working knowledge is just amazing to me. He adjusted me in so many areas over the course of an hour I walked out of there feeling so much better I was completely amazed and couldn’t wait to come back for more. He did however warn me that after all that work, I would more than likely be sore in the morning. And I was, but it still felt better than it had the previous many years which told me I had finally found some hope in finally feeling better.
Now a lot of people would take one look at the price and walk the other way….but….after having low back pain so severe for so long I was very ready to pay that kind of price to get relief without medication. Granted it wasn’t exactly in my budget to afford this, but it was a lot cheaper than paying my part of surgery not to mention being incapacitated for an extended period of time. It just made a whole lot more sense to me.
Just to prove a point, an MRI I had toward the end of the summer of 2016 showed 5 bulging discs and 3 herniated discs from the lower thoracic spine through the upper sacral spine areas and no, none of them were impinging on my spinal cord, but yet causing extreme pain nonetheless. I had another MRI of the same area of my back earlier this summer (2018) and it showed all the herniated discs were gone and I had one slightly bulging disc and that’s it. During this time, the only treatment I had was a a steady diet of seeing Paul, which shows you documented improvement by simple manipulation and a little bit of exercise also suggested by Paul. This certainly convinced me I had made the right decision.
Isn’t having your pain improved without surgery a much better option, not to mention the lack of pain medication and possible addiction to the pain meds a much healthier option???
I now stand up straight like a soldier with my head aligned with my spine. I no longer use any type of assistive device to walk and I always sit up straight as well and have very, very little pain. I only see Paul on an as needed basis and now am starting his physiokinetixs program numbers 1 and 2 which apply best to my needs.
I have to admit, if I read the above story and didn’t at least give Paul an opportunity to help me out, then I must just enjoy being in a lot of pain.
I truly think had I not found Paul and his vast knowledge of the body and it’s workings, I don’t think I would still be able to walk today. I’m too young and have too much to do in life to be stuck in a wheelchair.
